7 Plug-and-Play Email Templates to Win More Jobs

(Without Feeling Salesy)

Following up with leads is where most sales fall over. Not from a lack of skill, but a lack of structure. When you don’t know what to say (or how to say it), you either avoid the conversation or overthink it.

What if you had simple, proven email templates that made follow-up feel natural and confident?

Below are 7 ready-to-use scripts and email templates for common sales scenarios, designed to help you close more sales without sounding pushy.

1. The ‘Inquiry to Sale’ Opener

When to use: When someone first contacts you. Build rapport, qualify quickly, and offer value without pressure.

Phone Script:

“Hi, this is [Your Name] from [Your Business Name]. How can I help?”
(Listen, let them talk.)

“Just so I can help you best, would it be ok if I ask you a couple of questions?”

Examples of Questions: (These need to be quick and easy for someone to answer and also help you identify if you can help this person and if they are a good fit)

  • Where’s the work being done?
  • Are you the property owner?
  • When would you like this wrapped up by?
  • Are you still exploring options, or got something specific in mind?

“Based on what you’ve shared, would it help if I sent you a short checklist or guide with a few handy ideas?”

If Yes: Awesome—so what did you think? (Keep quite and let them answer)

If they haven’t looked at it yet: No worries, I understand that you are busy. I’ll give you a call later this week once you’ve had a chance to have a look? (Exit the call, you want to stay in control, rather than waiting for them to come back to you)
